How is my financial contribution used?

The radio ministry requires funding to broadcast . . . for electricity, new equipment and maintenance of existing equipment, phone lines, bandwidth for Internet streaming, studio equipment, new services, towers, transmitters, translators, antennas, music licensing and salaries.

How can I help?

Life 101.9 relies on listener support at a variety of levels. Here are some suggested giving levels we have put together:

Full Day Partner – $2400 or $200 per month
Half Day Partner – $1200 or $100 per month
Dollar-a-day – $360 or $30 per month

You can make your gift online today.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes! Northwestern Media is a ministry of Northwestern College which is a 501c3 organization. We will acknowledge your gift(s) which can be used as documentation when filing your taxes.

What is the difference between a pledge and a gift?

A gift is immediate (cash, credit card, check). A pledge is a faith promise: an agreement between you and the Lord that, as He provides, you will fulfill your commitment to financially support this radio ministry. Typically, pledges to our station have duration of 12 months.

What is Ongoing Monthly Giving and how does it work?

By signing up for Ongoing Monthly Giving online or by mail, you eliminate the need to call in your monthly commitment each year. Your monthly donation by credit card or electronic checking or savings withdrawal continues until you notify us that you would like to change it. Your signature is required, and you can notify us in writing when you decide to stop. This is the most cost-effective giving method because it decreases labor, allowing more of your gift to go toward the ministry rather than administrative costs.
What is automatic monthly giving (auto giving), and how does it work?

When you make a pledge to give monthly, you can choose to fulfill this commitment by electronic checking or savings withdrawal or monthly credit card gifts. By signing up for automatic giving, you don’t need to worry about missing a pledge payment or mailing in a gift. We can automatically generate this gift for you and apply it to your outstanding pledge balance. The benefit to you is that you don’t need to worry about making your pledge payment each month. The benefit to Northwestern Media is that these gifts are generated automatically saving us labor costs, which means more of your gift goes to ministry instead of administration costs. Simply put, it allows you — and us – to be better stewards of the Lord’s resources.

We will send you a thank-you receipt letter for your giving.

How does the Employer Matching Funds program work?

Employer Matching Funds involves your employer “matching” the financial contribution you make to the radio ministry (Click here for more information on Employer Matching Funds). Many are surprised to know that their donation to us qualifies for their matching gift program. Northwestern Media is a ministry of Northwestern College, which is a 501c3 organization. Your employer will match your donations to us under the provisions of the college as an educational institution. Visit your Human Resources Department for the necessary forms to initiate Employer Matching Funds.

Do people really “get saved” because of the radio ministry?

Yes! The Lord can choose any means He wishes to change a person’s heart. Often, He has used this radio ministry to touch lives in the most unique places, at just the right time. In fact, as much as 30 percent of our listening audience is made up of unsaved people whom the Lord is drawing by His love and His truth.

Do you really need my financial support?

This radio ministry does not use commercial advertising as a means of support. Therefore, this is truly a listener-supported ministry. What we do is for our listening family, supported by our listening family.

I hear businesses mentioned on-air. What’s that about?

These are friends of the ministry who own a business and want to financially support the ministry through their business. However, more than three-quarters of the operations funds come from our listeners just like you.

Do you need my financial support if I gave last year?

Yes. Our budget is annual.

What if I cannot afford to support the radio ministry financially?

We understand that situations change from time to time. We would, however, encourage you to find a level of support that works for your family’s budget. Some listeners choose to match their entertainment—such as restaurants or coffee shops—with an equal contribution to the radio ministry.

What if I am supporting another ministry?

It is a blessing to know that you are supporting another faith-based ministry. It is our prayer that you would support Life 101.9 as well to reach the lost with a message of hope and encouragement. We believe it is a biblical principle to support those ministries from which we – and those we love and care about – receive a benefit.

Is my gift tax deductible?
Life 101.9 is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization which means your gifts are 100 percent tax deductible; plus we are members of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. (ECFA is an accreditation agency dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to seven Standards of Responsible Stewardship.)
