Winter Travel Safety Tips

Getting stranded with a vehicle that is stuck or won’t run is never fun.  But getting stranded in the winter season can be dangerous if you don’t keep a few simple items in your vehicle to help keep you and your family safe.

  1. Old Hat, scarf, gloves, boots, and blanket  (You may not have all of these, but some is better than none:)
  2. Boots, old coveralls.
  3. Bottle of water under the seat.
  4. (My Favorite)  Keep Hand Warmers in the glove box.  You can stick them between layers of cloths or socks to keep you warm!

Caribbean Cruise Winner!

Congratulations to Life 101.9’s Caribbean Cruise Getaway Grand Prize Winner: Pastor Rick Vesely.

This is what Shirlee shared when she originally nominated Rick to go on the cruise:

Rick has been a pastor for the last 16 years in Traer. He and his wife Jan have been very involved in the community for the past 16 years. He received the citizenship award for Traer on 2008. He was on the economic board for underprivileged people. He has been involved with coaching. Announcing for football and basketball games. He was also involved as a Young Life Leader.
Rick has given a lot of his life and time to others. A big desire of his was to see his congregation go deeper with God.
Recently he has been diagnosed as having ALS. I would like to see some of what he has given to others given back to him and his wife in appreciation. Thank you!

Listen to Brent and Julia as they break the news to Rick on the phone!
