Where’s the Drummer?

I had a great time hanging out at the concert on Saturday.  5 bands in one night was quite the experience (though it was also quite loud).  One thing I noticed, and perhaps you did too, was the absence of Robby Shaffer, MercyMe’s drummer.  They had a replacement drummer for the night, but the mohawked man was nowhere to be seen.  I didn’t know why, so I grabbed my brother-in-laws cell phone with a data plan and went to Robby’s Twitter to find out where he was.  It turns out, he has a perfectly good excuse for not being there.  He and his wife had a new baby daughter on Thursday! So he was busy not sleeping.  Congratulations Robby!

A New Newsboy

The Newsboys are experiencing some changes.  Lead Singer Peter Furler is stepping down as frontman and lead singer, particularly on tour, and he’s being replaced Michael Tait. Tait is one of the three members of dcTalk, a band in a really strange sort of hiatus.  Furler plans on continuing to write songs and be involved in production of future Newsboys music, but won’t be traveling the road with them, appearing at only select shows throughout the year.  Keep the Newsboys in your prayers as they tackle the transition.
