Did you ever quit something as a child? Maybe it was a sport, music, or theater. But whatever it is, you always kind of regret quitting. At the time, it seemed like the only thing to do, but now, you wish you’d stuck with it. That’s like me and the piano. Growing up, I wanted to play the drums, but my Mom told me, “If you want to play the drums, you have to take piano first.” So I took my two years, and as soon as I got into the school band playing percussion, I quit playing the piano. Then I got to college and watched with envy the guys who could play piano and started listening to cool music with guys who played piano and thought, “Why did I quit?” Then the other day I realized, “I’m married to a piano teacher. What am I doing?” So starting this week, I’m going to start up piano lessons again. Hopefully, it goes well. If it doesn’t, this’ll be the last you hear of it.
