Facebook friends

Facebook is a social networking site that allows you to connect with others.  You can catch up with old friends from high school, keep in touch with current friends, and share your thoughts, photos, and videos with whoever you want.  Life 101.9 has a facebook page here, where you can connect with other fans of Life 101.9. When you make a connection on Facebook, that counts as a friend.  I have a page on Facebook, as do Brent and Julia.  I checked out their Facebook pages the other day and noticed that they have almost 300 friends…each! Then I checked my page.  I have about 40.  So I’m going out on a limb here and asking for help.  I need more friends to catch up to the Morning Show!  Would you add me as a friend on Facebook?  I’ll even make it easy for you.  Click here to link to my public page and then click “Add Mike Lanser as a Friend.”  It’s that simple.

Hyundai Recall

There are a lot of things we do out of routine or habit: locking your car door, washing your hands, checking your email.  But sometimes, those routines go wrong.  Things fall apart, don’t work right, or you get hurt.  That’s what’s behind the lates recall of Hyundai Sonatas.  Apparently, the chrome covering on interior door handles can crack, causing sharp edges the could cut you when you’re opening the door.  For more info about the recall, check out this link.

Practice makes perfect

Did you ever quit something as a child?  Maybe it was a sport, music, or theater.  But whatever it is, you always kind of regret quitting.  At the time, it seemed like the only thing to do, but now, you wish you’d stuck with it.  That’s like me and the piano.  Growing up, I wanted to play the drums, but my Mom told me, “If you want to play the drums, you have to take piano first.”  So I took my two years, and as soon as I got into the school band playing percussion, I quit playing the piano.  Then I got to college and watched with envy the guys who could play piano and started listening to cool music with guys who played piano and thought, “Why did I quit?”  Then the other day I realized, “I’m married to a piano teacher.  What am I doing?”  So starting this week, I’m going to start up piano lessons again.  Hopefully, it goes well.  If it doesn’t, this’ll be the last you hear of it.

Coffee Recall

Sometimes, you have one of those mornings where you wake up crawling, and you know the day will refuse to happen without a cup of coffee.  It was one of those mornings at our house.  The coffee was a surprise this morning though, since Amy had mixed some random gourmet coffees we had around the house in with the half-caf, so by halfway through the morning, I was little more wired then I expected to be.  That’s really the only surprise I like from my morning cup of coffee, but if you own a Bunn-O-Matic Single Cup Tea/Coffee Maker, you could be in for a different surprise.  Apparently the tray on top can come loose while the coffee is being made, which, if you’re close enough, could cause some burns.  If you have one of these, or think you might, click the link here and find out how to get the problem fixed.
