Staycation is over

I love my wife.  I say that because I give her a hard time every once in a while, and I want it to be clear that I do it in love and with a smile.  Like this past week.  I took a few days off to stay at home, and last week before I left I joked that I’d probably be busy with stuff around the house.  That night I was sitting on the couch and my wife turned to me and said, “I’ve got our list done, only 10 things we need to get done this weekend.”  Eventually that list expanded to 12, and I think at least 2 of those items failed.  But I did get to relax, and the house is pretty awesomely organized right now.  Just remember, when you stay home during your time off work, those projects at home won’t sit and complete themselves.

Open Mouth, Insert Foot

You’ve done it before.  You say something to someone and immediately slap your hand over your mouth.  You can’t believe you just said that and you wish you could take it back.  Now, you can, if it was in an email, and you sent it with Google’s Gmail.  Gmail recently added an “Undo Send” feature that you can enable. After you click send, for 5 seconds you can take it back.  You have to be quick, but it might keep you from hurting your friend’s feelings, or if it was an angry email to your boss, losing your job.

The Neverending Task

Last night, Amy started going through Bekah’s drawers as well as clothes we received from friends and relatives to sort out what we need to start putting into storage.  I think that marks the beginning Spring Cleaning.  A major spring cleaning hasn’t been done at our house yet I don’t think.  Basically, we need to go through all the places where you should be able to box and store things, like the attic, pull everything out, sort it, throw away what we don’t need, and then put it all back again, but neater this time.  I’m really excited to have the house more organized and better laid out.  I’m just not too pumped about doing the actual organizing.

Caffeine Awareness

It’s National Caffeine Awareness month this month; it’s an opportunity to look at the effects that caffeine has on our bodies.  More people than ever consume caffeine in pop and coffee, and some are choosing to take the time during Caffeine Awareness Month to abstain from caffeine. I tend to celebrate in reverse since I already had one Mountain Dew today…
