Egg Safety

Over the weekend I was getting my children breakfast when the thought crossed my mind “are my eggs safe and how do I make sure my kids don’t get Salmonella”…

From the Center for Disease Control, here’s what we as parents need to remember to keep our family safe when cooking the incredible, edible, egg.

1.  If you have recalled eggs take them back to the store.  Double check your eggs at www.fda.gov

2.  Keep eggs refrigerated at 45 degrees F at all times.

3.  Discard cracked or dirty eggs.

4.  Wash hands, cooking utensils, and food preparation surfaces with soap and water after contact with raw eggs.

5.  Avoid eating raw or undercooked eggs.  Eggs should be cooked until the white and yolk are firm.

It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.
